New Secretary-director of the Electoral Council
On 1 February 2010, Melle Bakker will take up his position as the new Secretary-director of the Electoral Council. He will succeed Hanneke Schipper, who, as from 1 November, is the Administrative Support Director for the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management.
Since 1979, Melle Bakker (56) has been working for the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK), where he has occupied various positions. From 1997 to 2001, Melle Bakker worked as Director of the Secretariat of the Governor of Aruba. He currently works as BKZ Counsellor at the Dutch embassy in London.
In 1979, Melle Bakker completed his study of Constitutional and Administrative Law at the State University of Groningen.
