Annual report 2020
The year 2020 is defined by the corona pandemic. During redivision elections in November a few Dutch municipalities were the first to be confronted with special corona measures at polling stations. The Electoral Council issued several recommendations concerning measures for safe elections during the COVID-19 crisis.
In 2020 the Electoral Council issued eight recommendations. Most of these concerned COVID-19. A few measures were introduced for the first time in the Netherlands: postal voting within the Netherlands and early voting.
